Happy Birthday Aaron Copland and Johann Nepomuk Hummel

One of the greatest American classical music composers of the 20th Century, Aaron Copland was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 14, 1900. Copland lived until he was 90 years old. Besides composing some iconic “American” music, Copland was also a teacher and a conductor.

The classical music composer and pianist, Johann Nepomuk Hummel, was born in Austria on November 14, 1778 and lived until he was 58 years old. Hummel lived mostly in the classical music era and he studied with two of the greatest classical music composers, Mozart and Haydn.
