As I was doing my Sunday walk this morning, I had turned on my Tune In App to Seattle’s Classical King Fm, and heard this beautiful phrase being played and smiled when I first heard it. I thought this is a sweet piano sonata, but it got even better when I heard this violin come in and I realized it wasn’t a piano sonata but a violin sonata. It was in the classical style.
By process of eliminating who I thought the composer wasn’t, I guessed it was probably Franz Schubert or possibly Felix Mendelssohn. It was indeed Schubert. At the end of the piece I found out this was Schubert’s Sonatina #2 for Violin and Piano. Called a sonatina because of the short length of the piece.

Franz Schubert scores this delightful Sonatina in the key of A minor, with 4 movements: 1. Allegro moderato; 2. Andante; 3. Menuetto; and 4. Allegro.
Please turn up the volume and enjoy this sweet violin sonatina by Franz Schubert. I found this You Tube video from AlbertoTH , that deserves more views than it has received, as Soos Orsolya [violin] and Alberto Tejera Hernaz [piano] gave a wonderful performance.
