On this Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, I say,
Happy Birthday to my wife, Sheralyn!
Sheralyn, the fetching Mrs. B., is my love, my life, my wife. On March 8, 1982, God blessed me with a wonderful wife, Sheralyn, without who, forty years later, I would be lost in this world.
Sheralyn and I were blessed with the amazing birth of our wonderful daughter, Ebony and then we were further blessed when Ebony married big John.
On December 11, 2015 Sheralyn and I were blessed again as we were given the greatest gift of all from our daughter and son-in-law, our sweet granddaughter, Skye Noelle.
I love you , Sheralyn! I don’t know what I have done to deserve such a wonderful blessing. I often wonder to myself, what was she thinking about.

Happy Birthday to my friend, Duane!
Duane Patterson, my friend, is the producer of the Hugh Hewitt radio show, that is, the way Hugh tells it, if he only had a producer. From the page on this blog, “Duane Patterson’s New Life Journey” [that I hope you will read], it is a tribute to this courageous Christian man battling and defeating cancer. As I stated in the post, “In the summer of 2012, after a tonsillectomy, Duane was diagnosed with basaloid squamous cell carcinoma in his left tonsil. When hearing the awful news, Duane – just the opposite of going to a ‘woe is me’ mode – would try every option available in fighting and defeating this evil cancer-and he did!” And with that determination, and a lot of prayers, I can say that Duane has crushed the cancer and ten years later is looking good and more importantly, is totally healthy.

These two great Americans don’t just share the same birth date, but also a strong unwavering Christian faith who have battled the road blocks in life with a self reliant, strong willed fervor.
Because of their courage, their faith, and their patriotism, both my wife Sheralyn and my friend, Duane Patterson, are heroes of mine.
